JavaScript Superset Language TypeScript Gets Update

The JavaScript superset language TypeScript .9 can now be downloaded.

JavaScript superset languages, like TypeScript, will become more important because they allow larger JavaScript apps to be written. Larger JavaScript apps are possible because the superset languages are higher level languages and increase maintainability of code. They also get compiled down to standard JavaScript when sent to the web browser. TypeScript is a developer’s tool to increase productivity.

You can read all of the TypeScript .9 enhancements to the language on the MSDN blog. Some improvements are:

  • Generics
  • Overloading on Constants
  • Export=
  • Enums
  • Declaration Merging
  • TypeScript 0.9 Compiler
