Information Age Goes Further With 3D Printing

I believe 3D printing is an extension of the information revolution. The first part of the information revolution was about digitizing paper processes so that it could be displayed on screens and automated. However, information is much more than only that which can be displayed on screens. 3D printing and the Internet of Things advances the information age beyond screens. This advancement will increase how fast business operates and the expectations of customers.

Information has been used in large factories to increase efficiency and it’s been used in businesses like Amazon to coordinate shipping from factory warehouses to customers. The next step is to bring materialization closer to the end user so they can have more control over the design of their objects.
